Did you know a Bar-tailed Godwit is the Guinness World Record holder for a migratory bird's longest non-stop flight?!

Join us as we learn about the amazing lives of shorebirds, like Adelaide's Go-Go Godwit (formally known as AKK). These birds fly thousands of kilometres every year from Australia to places in the Arctic Circle including Siberia, Russia, and Alaska.

Using roleplay, we make the exciting and dangerous migration from Australia north to Wrangle Island, Russia. After returning to Australia, we will have fun expanding our knowledge about shorebirds and threats to their survival.

Come along and soar like a shorebird with Roslyn, our local wildlife conservationist.

Roslyn is a conservationist focussing on the well-being of our coastal environments and birdlife. By promoting the importance of caring and sharing for our environment, Roslyn hopes to improve the well-being and survival rate of threatened species. She is trained in conducting bird surveys and citizen science data-collection. Roslyn surveys and monitors Little Penguins and Beach-nesting birds like Hooded Plovers and Fairy Terns.
