Young learners will discover what makes the ocean salty, explore how things float and sink in seawater, and investigate the unique properties of salt through fun, age-appropriate science activities.

Through play, discovery and experimentation, children will make predictions, test ideas and uncover the secrets of our oceans while developing an understanding of the important role seawater plays in supporting life on Earth. This engaging program encourages curiosity, critical thinking and a love of marine science through active participation and exploration.

Entry to the South Australian Whale Centre exhibits is included in the education session cost for each child attending.

A 45-minute guided tour of the South Australian Whale Centre, led by an experienced marine educator, can be added to the experience for an additional $5 per child. Students will explore the exhibits and discover the incredible marine animals and habitats that make our local oceans so special.
